In 1911 he opened a branch at 1134 13th St. on the Hill, which was operated by his brother, Ernest. Ernest worked at that store as manager until 1945, when, after Alfred's death, the store was sold to Eb Smith. Ernest continued to work there, operating a check cashing service for University of Colorado students, until his retirement in 1955. He died 4 March 1960. Alfred A. Greenman came to Boulder in 1890. Ben Williams razed his blacksmith and carriage business to erect this building. The street and number were changed from 2029 12th Street to 2031 Broadway Street.
